The 2023 Korea Grand Sale opening ceremony, marking the start of "Visit Korea Year 2023–2024" and the Shopping Tourism Festival for foreign tourists in Korea, was held at the 2023 Korea Grand Sale Welcome Center in front of Myeongdong Theater on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony was attended by key personnel including Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Park Bo-gyoon, Myeong-dong Special Tourist Zone Director Kim In-su, and Tourist Police Senior Inspector Noh Yeon-mun of the Seoul Metropolitan Police.



Following the opening ceremony, tourists from countries around the world visited the Welcome Center to obtain information about the event.



They also had the chance to experience Korean folk games such as Ttakjichigi, Jegichagi, and Sabangchigi in front of the Welcome Center.



The Welcome Center not only provides information on the 2023 Korea Grand Sale, but also operates various experiential programs and giveaway events! Foreign tourists are invited to the Welcome Center to receive special benefits for the 2023 Korea Grand Sale!
