The 2023~2024 Visit Korea Year Initiative aims to pioneer the global tourism industry by blending K-Culture and tourism. Designed to lead in the global tourism arena amidst a time of recovery and escalating competition, this strategic initiative is powered by the collaborative and participatory strengths of the Visit Korea Committee. The program’s aim is to boost the national tourism campaign, stimulate growth in the tourism industry, and invigorate the economy.

Business Introduction

The K-Tourism Cooperation Committee is a consultative body organized around Visit Korea Year 2023–2024 with the goal of successful promotion of the nationwide tourism campaign using a network of public-private partnerships. The Committee is expected to serve an important role in stimulating tourism in Korea based on K-culture and in attracting tourists from overseas by developing and promoting exchange and cooperation programs for the member companies of the K-Tourism Cooperation Committee.
The Committee consists of the Corporate Cooperation Committee, with members including a wide range of private companies that provide airline, accommodation, shopping, experience, and convenience services, and the Welcome Cooperation Committee, which is comprised of local governments, associations, and groups working for the stimulation of local tourism. The KOREA BEAUTY FESTIVAL, a festival designed for foreign tourists and organized under the theme of K-beauty through the participation of the tourism industry and enterprises, offers a range of K-beauty experience programs and benefits in areas all across Seoul.
In addition to a range of special K-beauty experience programs and promotions at the hub centers for hair and makeup, fashion, shopping, medical and wellness services, etc., additional benefits will also be available through cooperation with the participating enterprises. The K-Culture Festival, featuring K-POP Random Play Dance and K-culture pop-up stores, aims to promote “Visit Korea Year 2023–2024” with a welcoming atmosphere nationwide.

Local Treasures of Korea is a project intended for planning tourism products specialized for each region and theme to develop new products and stimulate local tourism.
It is designed to contribute to local tourism industry development by planning and developing local tourism products based on the natural landscapes, culture, and other elements of Korea, and promote on domestic and international OTA market. More details are available in the official website.
Korea Welcome Week is designed to warmly greet foreign tourists visiting Korea. We offer multilingual services, providing information about tourist destinations, transportation, restaurants, shopping, and more at the key transportation points around Korea, along with various benefits and giveaways.

 

Welcome Booths are operated at the international airports and major tourist attractions nationwide, in cooperation with the local governments of Incheon, Seoul, Busan, Jeju, and others to boost local tourism.

The Visit Korea Volunteer Program (K-TravelMate) is composed of domestic and international university students perform campaign promotion activities at the core tourist attractions.
Having performed as interpreters and tourist information assistants for foreign tourists visiting Korea at the offline event for the Visit Korea Year 2023–2024 campaign, the members of K-TravelMate are serving a leading role in improving foreign tourist satisfaction with tourism in Korea, increasing convenience services for tourists and providing them with comfort in tourism, and striving to promote the campaign throuigh their personal social networks.

For the Visit Korea Year 2023–2024, In order to promote a safe travel culture for foreign tourists to Korea, we have established a tourism safety net in cooperation with private companies.
Emergency calls, disaster alerts, safety guide, emergency shelters, medical centers, etc. are provided in five languages (Korean, English, Japanese, and Simplified/Traditional Chinese) based on the guidelines of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
