2017 Spring Welcome Week for World Tourists The 2017 Spring Welcome Week for World Tourists successfully ended. Having started on April 28, this 10-day festival has gotten great support and interest from many people every single day. During this festive period, the 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year and the K-Smile Campaign seized such a big chance to promote themselves through various events and performances.As always they do, the 16th University Students’ National Smile Team energetically took part in the promotional activities.    A tourist information center operated during the welcome week!The center provided many foreign visitors with useful tour information and helped them find their way.    The Hongdae streets, a place that has a variety of things to see and eat!Maybe foreign tourists had trouble finding the way because there are many attractions hidden here and there.But they didn’t have to worry! Our friends of the University Students’ National Smile Team were there to help!  🙂  This day, the student members took pictures and had talks with foreign tourists, hoping for their nice tours in Korea. It was a deeply meaningful moment for all.The Visit Korea Committee will work harder to present many foreign visitors with pleasant memories in Korea not only during the welcome week but on any day of their visits!

2016–2018 Visit Korea promoted in connection with the Dubai Asia Model Festival Here is Dubai, the city of beautiful skylines with the tallest buildings in the world!The Visit Korea Year came up in Dubai. :)There was held the Dubai Asia Model Festival, a contest to offer the winner achance of becoming an honorary ambassador for the Visit Korea Year!Here are some moments of the scene on May 3rd. Take a look!   This was taken right before the audition for the Asia Model Festival began.Did you notice the leaflets of the 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year in the hands of the models?See where the models are paying attention to. Everyone is eagerly listening to thespecial promotions offered only during the time of the Visit Korea Year! *_* Top five of each male and female models were selected after the intense competition.The number one model among them was named an honorary ambassador forthe 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year.Keep up with telling Dubai about the Visit Korea Year! The event was then followed by the main show for the VIPs and other guests.Look! There is a photo banner of Lee Minho,the official honorary ambassador for the Visit Korea Year! <Opening Ceremony of Seoul Welcome Week for Foreigners> We attended the opening ceremony of the Seoul Welcome Week held on Friday, April 28.It was a huge event that caught many people’s attention, especially with the upcoming Labor Day and Golden Week attracting more tourists to Korea.Ceremony participants performed a parade on streets, giving out souvenirs to foreign tourists and earning an enthusiastic response from them.   Before the official start of the opening ceremony, this eye-catching, exciting performance added to the festive atmosphere while capturing the attention of tourists. The performance was followed by a heartwarming welcoming speech for foreign tourists. At the appreciation ceremony, foreign tourists revisiting to Korea were presented with letters of appreciation.The Air Seoul crew participated in the event in the hopes ofbringing more foreign tourists to Korea. The 16th University Students’ National Smile Team also joined in the efforts to welcome foreigners.They handed out souvenirs to tourists and gave them a warm welcome with their bright smiles. ^^ The opening ceremony concluded with a commemoration.Thanks to everyone’s active participation, the day turned out to be all the more meaningful.Do look forward to the Welcome Week!

Launch Ceremony of the 16th University Students’ National Smile Team On Saturday, April 22nd, the launch ceremony of the 16th University Students’ National Smile Team washeld at the Kim Koo Museum in Yongsan, Seoul!The event featured an excellent lecture and other meaningful programs that encouraged the attending students to actively participate in the kindness campaign in preparation for the upcomingPyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.The event proceeded with a joyful atmosphere thanks to the attending students’ active participation, even though it was early on Saturday morning! These are the new 16th University Students’ National Smile Team members who have been proudly selected through intense competition!!Their positive energy is so clearly felt even in a group photo, isn’t it? Before the ceremony came into full swing, the members made apledge to have a good attitude toward the mission assigned to them. Then the 20 groups of the 16th team introduced themselves andpresented their own promotion plans in turn!Our student members came up with a variety of online/offline promotion strategies and ideas. 🙂 At the lecture on a culture of kindness, the students learnedhow to welcome foreign tourists kindly.Every attendee paid close attention to this appealing lecture! To announce the initiation of their activities, the students changed intobeautiful hanbok and came out to Myeong-dong, Jung-gu.They informed foreign tourists who were passing by about theK-Smile Campaign and left them good memories in the form of photos. Starting with the day’s K-Smile Campaign event, the 16th members will go on for five months with different activities that will contribute to a successful PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.We expect the 16th team to engage in ever more remarkable activitiesuntil the culture of kindness is completely established nationwide.

K-Smile Campaign Held in Myeong-dong for Welcome Week for World Tourists
K-Smile Campaign Held in Myeong-dong for Welcome Week for World Tourists On April 17, the Korea Visit Committee staged a K-Smile Campaign event around Myeong-dong in preparation for the Spring Welcome Week for World Tourists! Along with more than 150 participants, including shop owners, tourist guides, and tourist officers, the committee carried out promotional activities to spread the culture of kindness by handing out a global etiquette guide and other promotional materials. Before the campaign event got into full swing, a taekkyeon performance was presented,brightening up the mood and catching the attention of many tourists! The chairman of the Seoul Tourism Association delivered a welcoming address and explained the purpose of the campaign and the schedule of subsequent events. We couldn't leave this meaningful occasion without taking a commemorative photo! The participants were very busy getting around Myeong-dong, one of Korea’s hottest tourist attractions, to hand out a global etiquette guide and to call for kindly hospitality to be extended to foreign tourists with a promotional picket sign in hand. We express our thanks to all who participated in the event despite the bad weather!
