Review Meeting on Outcomes of Korea Grand Sale 2018 Shall we review the outcomes of the Korea Grand Sale 2018? This year, the annual sale was launched on January 18 and ended on February 28.   The review meeting of the Korea Grand Sale 2018 was held on March 15 at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul. Before the meeting, the attendees enjoyed a networking session over a wide range of snacks and drinks. The meeting kicked off with a welcoming address by Secretary-General Han Kyung-ah of the Visit Korea Committee. This was followed by a video report and presentation. The event attracted a total of 778 participating companies and 51,497 stores, which translates to a year-on-year increase of 48% and 25%, respectively. A Q&A session was held to help the organizers prepare for a more successful Korea Grand Sale based on feedback from the attendees. Let’s look forward to the Korea Grand Sale 2019. Top businesses received the Award of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the Korea Grand Sale 2018. This year’s winners were Asiana Airlines and Lotte Department Store. The winners of the Award of the Chairman of the Visit Korea Committee were Doota Duty Free, Woongjin Playdoci, Creative Tong, and WiFi Dosirak. The lucky draw event was another chance for the attendees to bring home attractive prizes. The winners, selected randomly from among the participating companies, were very pleased with their prizes. The PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games kicked off after the closing of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics. In celebration of its opening, the 17th University Students’ National Smile Team visited Gangneung Station and held a welcome campaign. Gangneung Station was bustling with many locals and foreigners visiting the city for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics. Let’s check out the welcome campaign launched by the National Smile Team! Visitors wrote messages on this photo wall featuring the Paralympics mascot Bandabi to cheer for their favorite athletes! The photo wall did not take long to fill up, and was a popular photo spot. The National Smile Team invited visitors in front of Gangneung Station to cheer for athletes with their own voices. No matter what language they speak, everyone felt united in the spirit of the Olympics! Those who participated in the event received official souvenirs of the PyeongChang Olympics. The campaign will be made into a video and posted online to reach out to more people. Welcome to Gangneung! The visitors gave high-fives to the National Smile Team in support of the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games. The welcome campaign left people feeling motivated and energized. Despite the cold weather, our hearts were totally warmed by the campaign. Cheers to the National Smile Team for their hospitality and friendliness. Completion Ceremony for the 17th University Students’ National Smile Team On March 9, the Visit Korea Committee held the completion ceremony of the 17th University Students’ National Smile Team at the Grand Hall of Tmark Grand Hotel Myeongdong in Jung-gu, Seoul. The members of the 17th team held a welcome campaign in many places nationwide for locals and foreigners in celebration of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. At the awards ceremony, the most outstanding team and individuals were presented awards in recognition of their efforts. The Visit Korea Committee set the table with souvenirs to thank the members of the 17th team. As more people gather, the hall soon filled with laughter and excited chatter. Here are some familiar faces from the 17th team. The members posed for a photo at the photo zone. Next, the members gave a report on their activities. They participated in various online and offline activities to raise awareness of Korean culture among foreigners. Everyone felt touched by how passionate and dedicated they were even in the cold winter. ♥   The completion ceremony kicked off with an opening declaration and an introduction of guests.   The key activities of the National Smile Team were compiled in a slide show. Each photo brought back wonderful memories of the past. Their unforgettable experience will be treasured for many years to come.     Finally, the members of the National Smile Team received certificates of completion for their activities. They were proud of their certificates and medals. Congratulations. : ) Let’s not forget the lucky draw event. The lucky winners were randomly picked by Visit Korea Committee staff.   The ceremony ended in a happy, festive atmosphere.
