Secretary-General Han delivers a welcoming address for the attending correspondents. There was a brief introduction to the Visit Korea Committee along with a promotional video played. And it was followed by a detailed introduction to a number of programs accompanying the 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year. Among the programs, a separate presentation was made on the most upcoming event “Korea Grand Sale” taking place soon in the next month. Perhaps it might be a good tip for you that a big sale is scheduled for K-Travel Bus in the period of the Korea Grand Sale. Do you have friends who plan to visit Korea? Inform them of this awesome news!! Now, a full introduction to the 2016 Korea Grand Sale has started. The correspondents seem busy taking photos. This event especially features a comprehensive festival that encompasses culture, tourism, and shopping all together. You can enjoy shopping, sightseeing, and watching K-pop stars’ performances at once!! Can you imagine an even better choice? While the previous event in the last year was themed with “MAGIC,” this year’s main theme is “LOVE.” Take a look at the poster all colored in pink. It seems full of love, doesn’t it? It’s so exciting to imagine what kinds of fun events are being arranged!! (Korea Grand Sale website link ▶ http://www.koreagrandsale.co.kr/ ) Subsequently, there was a Q&A session. Various questions have helped us get a deeper understanding of the committee’s programs taking place during 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year. We took a commemorative photo in a lovely mood. It’s usual to see our photos feature finger-hearts, but those in this photo feel like something special as the love-themed event of the Korea Grand Sale is at hand~♡ Please keep your eyes on the 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year, which is now going to be further spreading worldwide by the reporters from ASEAN member states.

In particular, 71 of them were selected as exemplary delegates who had accomplished all their missions. (Clapping!) Among them, 20 representatives attended the award ceremony. How about going to see the ceremony right now? * Before we join the ceremony, let’s see some photos of the delegation’s activities. <The photos of the delegation carrying out missions> Dressed in hanboks, delegates are engaged in an offline mission around the Gyeongbok Palace and the Insa-dong streets! Some friends have posted their Pledges of Kindness on Instagram. 🙂 Eventually the ceremony opened! The 20 attendees were awarded with certificates and medals for their excellent activities by Director Park Ki-tea of the VANK and Director Lee Eun-jung of the Visit Korea Committee Service Improvement Team. Congratulations to all the awardees! We expect their continued contributions to promoting Korean culture After the awarding session, Delegates Choi Won-seo and Kim Su-yeon delivered presentations on their experience of activities. And it was followed by Director Park’s brief lecture on how important it is to promote Korea culture tours to the world. <We Attended the 2016 MATTA FAIR in Malaysia> Being a premier travel extravaganza, the MATTA Fair took place at the PWTC (Putra World Trade Center), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from September 2 to 4. Hearing the news that the Visit Korea Committee was going to participate in this event, I went there too! This event boasts an annual attendance of 110 thousand visitors! Among many different booths there, the committee’s promotion was particularly hot! Now I’m going to reel off its details: This is a pass for the 3-day fair. Do you see that the emblem of the 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year is so well harmonized even with the pass? 🙂 Well, the staff seem now to be preparing the booth for visitors! They’re starting with checking the well-packaged deliveries from Korea. The booth guides are being informed of the campaign of the “2016–2018 Visit Korea Year” and its accompanying programs such as “Korea Grand Sale.” Leaflets are neatly arranged in order on the table to give information on the “2016–2018 Visit Korea Year,” “K-Travel Bus,” and “Korea Grand Sale.” As soon as the fair opened at 10 A.M., guests started to come over one after another. Many of the visitors were those who were planning a Korean tour. They were informed of various practical benefits and other useful things that could help them enjoy Korean tours even better. 🙂 He is showing a peculiar affection to the emblem sticker. A great deal of guests paid attention to this walking vision. On the big ball were played the promotional videos of "Korea Grand Sale" and “K-Travel Bus.” This ball was out of the committee’s booth and moved all around the exhibition, publicizing the booth. Thanks to the walking vision, this guiding guy also enjoyed quite big popularity. 🙂 The booth received so great attention that all the leaflets run out very early. It was a precious opportunity for me to feel such big affections toward Korea. All visitors whom we met at the 2016 MATTA FAIR in Malaysia! See you all again in Korea. 🙂

2016 Singapore Travel Revolution ‘The 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year is emerging in Singapore! From August 19th to 21st, the Travel Revolution Fair took place at the Marina Bay Sands Expo Hall, Singapore. It is said that there were 67 institutions attending along with about 75,000 visitors. Especially, the Visit Korea Committee’s booth had a constant stream of visitors, more than any other booths. Let’s depart to the scene right now! We’ve arrived at the event place of the Travel Revolution a bit early! There, people seemed very busy moving goods and organizing booths. Do you see the emblem of the 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year? It’s seen at once even when far away! 🙂 You can also see a leaflet promoting the 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year! From the K-Travel Bus, an overnight bus-tour service for foreigners visiting Korea, to the Korea Grand Sale, a representative Korean shopping festival that offers tours and cultural experiences, everything is ready to welcome visitors! 🙂 It’s 11 am o’clock now! As soon as the fair started, many people visited the booth of the 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year. “Ride on the K-Travel Bus and have a trip to provincial spots outside Seoul that have unique and distinctive appeals in their own ways!” The booth was constantly filled with visitors since its opening until 9 pm at night. It was a bit tiring but we could feel Singaporeans’ endless love and affection toward Korea! We hope their interest in Korea leads to their decision to visit here. 🙂 We appreciate those who have visited the 2016 Travel Revolution, in particular our 2016-2018 Visit Korea Year booth. See you all again in Korea. 🙂

The Visit Korea Committee and the Korea Hotel Association Sign Business Agreement The Visit Korea Committee  has signed a business agreement with the Korea Hotel Association  on August 23. This agreement means so much to spread over K-Smile campaign to the hotels playing important role in the tourism. Having hearing the good news, we ran to the signing place. Now let me show the scene of the signing ceremony. (Clapping ^^) We arrived at the Korea Hotel Association’s meeting room where the ceremony was taking place. Everybody was busy preparing for the ceremony. Rat-a-tat-tat! Meanwhile, Korea Hotel Association President Yu Yong-jong and Visit Korea Committee Secretary-General Katie Han were talking about how the K-Smile campaign could spread further and also about various other collaborative projects in the next meeting room. Subsequently, the business agreement was signed for the implementation of collaborative activities for the K-Smile campaign. “We pledge active participation in K-Smile campaign’s encouragement of the Korean public to welcome foreign tourists with kindness and bright smiles!” Next, a commemorative photo was taken of Korea Hotel Association President Yu (left) and Visit Korea Committee  Secretary-General Katie Han. They both posed with beautiful smiles that perfectly suit the K-Smile. 🙂 “Korea’s smiles make the world smile.” A snap with the K-Smile emblem! 🙂 We hope our all-out efforts will result in the successful implementation of the K-Smile campaign.
