The Tourist Service Center for the 2020 Korea Grand Sale
Tourist Service Center (TSC) has been transformed for the 2020 Korea Grand Sale. Check out TSC that operated for 45 days from January 16th to February 29th! Our TSC visited major attractions such as Doota Mall, Good Morning City, Seoul City Hall Plaza, Sungnyemun Gate Plaza, Namsan Mountain, Gocheok Sky Dome, and Hongdae area to offer diverse convenience services and hands-on sessions. The TSC provides useful and convenient services including on-site interpretation for English-speaking, Chinese, and Japanese tourists as well as free Wi-Fi access. Moreover, we prepared some fun hands-on events such as Air-Ball, Tourism VR, and Initial Photo Zone for the 2020 Korea Grand Sale. Can you see those big smiles on the faces of the tourists who visited our TSC? To be closer to tourists and to provide conveniences as well as more fun time here in Korea, TSC will be running around this year as well. It will expand its operations to nationwide attractions, with even more on-site services and events! See you all again at the 2021 Korea Grand Sale!

The Welcome Center of the 2020 Korea Grand Sale
The Welcome Center is an essential part of the Korea Grand Sale for foreign tourists! The Welcome Center of the 2020 Korea Grand Sale featured the unique design of a shopping arcade, which drew the attention of so many people. Let’s check out the Welcome Center, which greeted foreign tourists from January 16th to February 29th, 2020, with exciting events and many convenience services for the tourists. Our Welcome Center looks so pretty, both day and night! The center is located in Doota Mall of Dongdaemun for maximum accessibility to foreign tourists. The Welcome Center offers a variety of events and services for foreign tourists, including “Tourism Interpretation service” while traveling in Korea, and games such as Roulette, Stopwatch, and Hands-on VR. Visitors can refresh themselves with free beverages and search information in the Internet Lounge. There is also a “Special Welcome Center” that welcomed the foreign tourists at the airport on the Lunar New Year's Day this year! Let’s start with the one in Gimpo International Airport. The grand sight of the Welcome Center that greeted foreign tourists! As it was built in consideration of the New Year holiday, the center offered traditional games such as Tuho (Arrow-throwing) and Yunnori (traditional Korean board game) as well as more general events like Roulette. The next one is the Special Welcome Center in Incheon International Airport! The Special Welcome Center of Incheon International Airport also serves as the honorary gateway for all foreign tourists coming to Korea. Those wondering about tourism information were also provided with on-site interpretation service. Events like posting photos on social media were held, too! Opening Ceremony of the 2020 Korea Grand Sale
The Welcome Center of Doota Mall in the Dongdaemun area was the venue of the opening ceremony of the 2020 Korea Grand Sale on January 16th, 2020. The sky is crystal-clear today! It could not be a better day for the Korea Grand Sale. Let's take pictures at the photo zone to leave something memorable. Before the opening, we invited the attendees to the 2020 Korea Grand Sale with the exciting musical show. Vice Minister Yun-hee Choi of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and Secretary General Gyeong-ah Han of the Visit Korea Committee, cut the pink ribbon to open the Welcome Center. The ceremony was attended by a foreigner group consisting of representatives from more than 10 countries such as Germany, Spain, and Philippines. The huge pop-up invitation card was opened to mark the onset of the Korea Grand Sale. Many different events with freebies were prepared for foreign tourists at the Welcome Center in Dongdaemun area. The Tourist Service Center (TSC) was seen at a variety of events throughout the year with many participatory events including Tourism VR and Traditional Games as well as convenience services for tourists. 2020 Korea Grand Sale - Media Conference
Just a month left before the Korea Grand Sale, the first festival for foreigners in the new year. Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun Hotel was the venue for the media conference. The Korea Grand Sale specifically targeting foreign tourists will be held for 45 days from January 16th to February 29th. The media will be the first to know about the program one month before the commencement. The welcome remarks from the Secretary General marked the beginning of the conference. The Korea Grand Sale has been held annually since 2011. It is a culture and tourism festival with shopping as a core medium, serving as the foundation for growth of the “shopping tourism” in Korea. The upcoming Korea Grand Sale enhanced “consumption of culture” with 5 big K-Culture promotions: K-Pop, K-Beauty, K-Food, K-Heritage, and K-Winter.
